Gifu-Kakamigahara Air and Space Museum Reopening

March 23 , 2018
See 43 different air and spacecraft at the newly renovated Gifu-Kakamigahara Air and Space Museum.

The Gifu-Kakamigahara Air and Space Museum, which has been closed since September of 2016, is reopening on March 24th after undergoing some heavy-duty renovations. The museum has teamed up with NASA and the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum (located in the U.S.) in efforts to make the scale and content of the exhibits worthy of being Japan’s only museum to specialize in both air and space technology.

Some highlights include the world’s only surviving Imperial Japanese Army Air Service “Hien” fighter aircraft, and a life-size replica of mankind’s very first aircraft: the Wright Flyer.
